Canberra Slam Poetry Featuring Andrew Cox

Join us for our first slam for 2024, featuring a nationally recognised slam and spoken word poet, Andrew Cox!

Andrew Cox is a proud Filipino/Australian who lives and works on Ngunnawal & Ngambri country, and is the current creative producer of the Canberra Poetry Slam.
His work crosses boundaries, performing in high schools as well as major Australian wide competitions, to spoken word theatre productions, to more recently being featured internationally for the 2023 Singapore Writers Festival.
Andrew’s work has been shortlisted for national writing prizes, notably for Innovation in Spoken Word and his writing published in multiple anthologies, recognised as an emerging voice in Australian poetry.

For those new to slam, a slam looks like …
🎤 A round of open mic performances.
🎤 Judges, randomly selected from the audience and a winner announced at the end of the night.
🎤 A feature poet set from a nationally recognised performer.

Canberra Slam is a safe space.
